PASO ROBLES, CENTRAL COAST

Paso Robles has become the hottest wine district in the US – and not just during the summer months! In the past decade or so, the Rhone Ranger movement has really gained foothold and worldwide recognition, especially when Saxum’s James Berry Vineyard was named wine of the year by Wine Spectator in 2010.

Central Coast is situated between Los Angeles and Napa Valley and is generally warmer than Napa. Though traditionally a Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon growing region, Central Coast – and Paso Robles in particular – has become recognized for their high-quality Southern Rhone-style wines working with Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. In addition, Paso’s limestone soils and many micro climates lends individuality to small-production wines. The wines are a reflection of the districts itself: hearty, friendly and irreverent.

Many of our producers are so small they sell all their wines domestically. We are therefore extremely honored when we are entrusted with a few cases of these highly sought-after wines and are able to offer them to our European customers.
