Russell From tager endnu engang turen op langs den californiske kyst i jagten på Syrah-druer til hans “gateway drug”-vin. Undervejs stopper han ved bl.a. Bien Nacido, Slide Hill, White Hawk og hans egen Chelle Mountain. Resultatet er – som altid – et brag af en koncentreret vin, der er sprængfyldt med krydderier, lakrids, tanniner og moden frugt.

Russells egen version af smagenoterne lyder:
“These fireworks have crossed three state lines in the back of a wood-paneled station wagon, because there’s no way you’re getting shown up by Jed Miller again. We’re talking strawberry strobes, blueberry bursts, and sweet basil flares, synchronized to AC/DC and the swoons of cul-de-sac housewives.
